What Makes a Genius Stand Apart

What makes one come up with that original idea, that spark, that separates a genius from the rest? Its intellect, not mere intelligence. More information, including regular lectures and retreats in NY NJ: www.vedantausa.org

So friends, you have got to be able to think for yourself. This is intellect.

All over the world is just intelligence, intelligence, intelligence.
This institution which I am talking about, what we represent is the intellect, which is unknown in the world.
In fact, even to use your intelligence, you need an intellect.

See there was a time when the entire music industry was talking about how to have a better CD- you know the CDs- bigger CD, better CD, denser CD. One guy stood apart and said why should we have a CD in the first place. That’s the IPOD. Changed everything. That’s intellect.
Intelligence is information from outside. Intellect is the capacity to think for yourself. And that’s not there at all.
You know Edison, Thomas Edison had 3 months of schooling in his life. Three months. When he died he had 1300 patents to his name. According to the world he has no intelligence. Just had intellect. Can think on your own. You don’t need intelligence.
But all you are doing is more and more information.
So friends, you have got to be able to think for yourself. This is intellect.
