A disciple of Swami Parthasarathy, Gautam completed a brilliant academic career in the United States. He received awards for academic and athletic excellence, and was recognized for exceptional impact on college life. Upon graduation, he declined lucrative offers from leading U.S. Corporations and returned to India to join the Vedanta Academy under Swami Parthasarathy.

Gautam has completed over a decade of full time study of Vedanta and has dedicated his life to further research and propagation. He has been actively promoting the knowledge through public discourses, and is currently in the US to head the efforts of the Vedanta Cultural Foundation.

Gautam has also presented seminars on Self management to premier corporations, institutions and universities, including the Young President's Organization (YPO), Goldman Sachs, IBM, AT & T, Columbia, Princeton, and MIT
